The staff for Camp Star is comprised of dedicated
teachers and college students with backgrounds in various fields such as
special education, art, social work, education and psychology.
New camper applicants
are interviewed before admission to determine whether we can adequately
meet the needs of the child.
The Camp Star program
and camper scholarships are made possible through the generous support
from the United Way of Westfield, foundations, local civic organizations,
schools, the Division of Developmental Disabilities, private donations
and fees paid by the families.
Applications for financial assistance are available and will be
considered on a case by case basis with proof of income.

Campers who attend Camp Star must be able to handle their
own personal needs and be ambulatory.
Campers are between
the ages of 6 and 21.
Campers are divided
into groups with peers of similar age range.
The camper to staff
ratio is two to one.
Camp hours are 9am to
3pm, Monday through Friday, for six weeks in July and August, rain or
shine.
Limited
transportation to camp is provided.
