The mission of The Arc of Union County is to empower and support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We will engage the individuals we serve, their families, public, and private entities to ensure that all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities associated with this organization realize a full, productive, and enhanced life.

The vision of The Arc of Union County is to have a socially just, accessible and inclusive environment where human rights and diversity of all people with disabilities are recognized, respected and celebrated for their achievements. The agency will achieve our mission through data driven analysis, we take in data, manage it, store it, share it appropriately and protect it from unauthorized access. our goals are to use data in a purpose driven manner, to analyze and distill data to enable informed decision-making in all internal and external functions.

The Arc of Union County was founded in 1949 by parents of children with disabilities who wanted to ensure their children had a place that would serve and advocate for them.

today

The Arc of Union County, Inc. is a non-profit, 501c(3) organization headquartered in Springfield, NJ, dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc serves more than 1,000 adults and children each month from the 21 towns in Union County, as well as the greater Northern and Central NJ counties.

The Arc of Union County is affiliated with The Arc of New Jersey and The Arc of the United States. Our programs are licensed by the New Jersey State Departments of Health and The New Jersey Department of Human Services, Developmental Disabilities Licensing. The Arc Kohler School is approved by the New Jersey Department of Education and the agency holds distinguished accreditations from CARF, which are nationally recognized authorities.
