early intervention
The Arc of Union County’s Early Intervention Program is approved by The NJ Early Intervention System (NJEIS), which is administered by the NJ Department of Health.
Eligibility for Early Intervention is determined based on a comprehensive assessment and developmental delays. The areas of development include gross motor, fine motor, language, cognition and self-help. For more information, download a free brochure from NJ’s Early Intervention System. Or, to obtain information about NJEIS or a referral, please contact the statewide toll free number: (888) 653-4463.
At The Arc of Union County, we partner with families to assist their children from birth to 3 years of age to achieve developmental milestones. Once a referral is made by the NJEIS, an evaluation will be scheduled and if your child is determined to be eligible, an initial Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) will be developed. Based on those recommendations, we can provide practitioner referrals, and help you obtain appropriate services for your child and family.
